Seamor Marine purchases ROV IP from Inuktun Services
Seamor Marine's Seamor underwater ROV - Today, Seamor Marine Ltd. is pleased to announce the purchase of the underwater ROV system, Seamor, and related intellectual property from Inuktun Services Ltd.
The Seamor ROV system was first developed by Inuktun Services 17 years ago for the recreational boating market by Al Robinson, one of Inuktun's founders. Although the intended market never materialized, the Seamor system was found to have many industrial uses. Later, Inuktun designed the Seamor system with modern technology to provide better quality images, improved sensor integration, increased power and greater operational depth. Today, Seamor can incorporate devices such as Sonar, auxiliary video cameras, CP Proves, brush cleaning motors and manipulators, and operate at depths of up to 1,000 feet underwater.
The combination of depth capability, sensor integration and the standard zoom camera makes Seamor a unique system in the market - no other systems combine this much capability into a single, portable system. In addition, unlike many other small and medium class ROVs, the Seamor vehicle is modular, allowing for easy swap out of thrusters, camera modules, and/or the electronics control canister if required.
Founded in 2006, the newly formed Seamor Marine Ltd. company is dedicated to the sale and service of the Seamor system into the underwater industrial market. Seamor Marine Ltd. hosts a full production and testing facility coupled with an ROV rental and service fleet serviced by trained operators and field service technicians
